Biography
Takeru Segawa, nicknamed "Natural Born Crusher," is the most decorated champion in K-1 history and the promotion's only three-division world champion, having won titles at Super Bantamweight (2015), Featherweight (2016) and Super Featherweight (2018). Combat Press ranked him the world's top pound-for-pound kickboxer from 2019 to 2022.
Built on a karate foundation, his style fused suffocating forward pressure, a high volume of front-leg kicks and concussive punching. His long-awaited 2022 superfight with Tenshin Nasukawa at Tokyo Dome ended in a unanimous-decision loss, one of only five defeats in his career.
In 2025 Takeru moved to ONE Championship, where Rodtang Jitmuangnon knocked him out in 80 seconds at ONE 172. He avenged that loss emphatically at ONE Samurai 1 in April 2026, stopping Rodtang by fifth-round TKO to capture the ONE Interim Flyweight Kickboxing World Title. He retired in May 2026 with a 46-5 record, citing a cervical disc herniation, closing one of the sport's greatest careers.
