Career
Usami was born in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture. He came up through knockdown karate and built a boxing game on top of that base. He turned professional in MMA in April 2022, but it was in kickboxing that he broke through: in his first fight under striking rules, on 28 December 2022 at INOKI BOM-BA-YE x Ganryujima in Ryogoku, he took a 3-0 decision over K-1 MAX veteran Albert Kraus. On 16 September 2023 at KNOCK OUT 2023 vol.4 he stopped Jamal Wahim by first-round KO to win the interim ISKA Intercontinental Welterweight title under Oriental rules. On 21 December 2024 he beat Takumi Sanekata by unanimous decision over five rounds at RISE WORLD SERIES 2024 FINAL to become the 4th RISE Welterweight Champion.
After the November 2025 rematch with Jo Sang-hae he was out for roughly seven months. RISE's own pre-return interview ran under a headline about being able to punch in earnest without worrying about his fist, which points to a hand problem; whether surgery was involved, and which hand, has not been made public. He returned on 6 June 2026 and knocked out Pimai Por.Kobkua in 43 seconds with a left knee.
