Cancelled: Tomizawa vs Kawabata
Donmai Kawabata withdrew with a fractured left orbital floor, and the bout was cancelled. Doctors put his recovery at two to three months. RIZIN CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara announced it at the open workout on 29 August 2026, saying he could not let Kawabata fight in that condition and that going ahead would be disrespectful to Tomizawa.
Kawabata asked to fight anyway and was refused. Tomizawa has said he will still compete if an opponent is found, and Sakakibara said RIZIN would look for one. No replacement bout had been announced at the time of writing.
Added: Hide Mason Usami vs Beynoa
Hide Mason Usami, the reigning RISE welterweight champion who joins the card on Takeru's recommendation, meets former RISE welterweight champion "Black Panther" Beynoa under RIZIN KICK rules — kickboxing with open-finger gloves, 71 kg, three three-minute rounds.
Beynoa, who now competes in MMA, has publicly objected to the bout being made under kick rules. Usami, asked by Takeru to showcase kickboxing, has answered in kind, and the two have been trading words since the announcement.
Main event: an unbeaten champion against a former Bellator champion
Rajabali Shaidulaev is RIZIN's unbeaten featherweight champion. AJ McKee is a former Bellator featherweight World Grand Prix champion now with the PFL. Two belts are on the line at once — a format rarely seen in Japanese MMA.
