Biography
Mikuru Asakura is a RIZIN featherweight, one of Japan's most popular combat-sports figures, and the older brother of Kai Asakura. A JAPAN TOP TEAM product, he is a sharp counter-striker who became a massive YouTuber and the driving force behind the BreakingDown promotion.
In RIZIN he beat respected names such as former Shooto champion Hatsu Hioki and Yutaka Saito. In 2022 he took a boxing exhibition against Floyd Mayweather, who stopped him in the second round (an exhibition that did not affect his MMA record).
He also defeated grappling ace Kleber Koike Erbst by split decision at Super RIZIN 4 (2025). On New Year's Eve 2025, he came up short in a RIZIN Featherweight Championship bout, losing to Razhabali Shaydullaev by TKO. Now 20-7, he remains a marquee RIZIN star and media mogul.
