Biography
Canelo Alvarez is the face of modern boxing and a four-division world champion who turned pro at just 15 in 2005. An orthodox counter-puncher, he is renowned for elite defensive head movement, devastating body punching and short, precise combinations.
He captured titles at light middleweight, middleweight, super middleweight and light heavyweight, and in November 2021 became the first-ever undisputed super middleweight champion of the four-belt era by stopping Caleb Plant. His résumé includes wins over Gennady Golovkin (rematch, 2018), Sergey Kovalev and Jaime Munguia (2024).
Canelo's career carries only three losses, each to an elite name: Floyd Mayweather (2013), Dmitry Bivol (2022, moving up to light heavyweight), and Terence Crawford (September 2025), the last of which ended his undisputed reign.
