Biography
Dmitry Bivol is the undisputed light heavyweight champion and one of boxing's most polished technicians. Born in Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan and fighting out of Russia, he turned pro in 2014 and built his reputation on textbook fundamentals: a relentless, accurate jab, sharp footwork and disciplined, high-volume output.
He held the WBA light heavyweight title for roughly five years, and authored his signature win in May 2022 by clearly outpointing Canelo Alvarez over 12 rounds — a performance that reshaped the division. His only career loss came in October 2024, a close majority decision to Artur Beterbiev in an all-Russian undisputed unification.
Bivol avenged it emphatically just four months later, beating Beterbiev in their February 2025 rematch to become undisputed light heavyweight champion. He defended with a shutout unanimous decision over Michael Eifert in May 2026.
As of June 2026 he is 25-1 (12 KOs) and the reigning undisputed 175-pound king, with a Beterbiev trilogy under discussion.
