Biography

Zhang "Magnum" Weili is a Chinese MMA pioneer — the country's first UFC champion — and one of the greatest women's strawweights in history. A pro since 2013, she combines explosive striking power with strong wrestling and an elite gas tank.

She won the UFC strawweight title in 2019, and after a brief setback reclaimed it in 2022 to begin the longest reign in the division's history, defending against the likes of Yan Xiaonan, Amanda Lemos and Tatiana Suarez.

Seeking history, she moved up to challenge flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko in a champion-vs-champion superfight at UFC 322 on November 15, 2025, but was comprehensively outpointed, falling to 26-4 and dropping back toward strawweight.

As of June 2026 she remains a top contender and a likely returning force in the strawweight title picture.
