Biography
Carlos Ulberg is the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and the first New Zealander to hold the belt. A product of Auckland's famed City Kickboxing — the same gym as Israel Adesanya — Ulberg blends a kickboxer's distance management and precision with genuine knockout power.
After a debut loss, he rebuilt with a remarkable ten-fight winning streak, stopping a string of contenders including a first-round knockout of Dominick Reyes in September 2025. That run earned him a shot at the vacant title against former champion Jiri Prochazka at UFC 327 in April 2026. Despite fighting through an early knee scare, Ulberg caught Prochazka coming forward and finished him by first-round knockout to claim the championship.
As of June 2026 he is the reigning UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and ranked No.1 in his division.
