Biography
Gervonta "Tank" Davis is one of boxing's biggest pay-per-view draws and among the hardest punchers in the lighter weight classes. A pro since 2013 out of Baltimore, the compact southpaw built a reputation as a one-shot finisher, winning world titles across super featherweight, lightweight and super lightweight.
His explosive counter left hand has produced highlight-reel knockouts, including a body-shot finish of Ryan Garcia in their 2023 superfight. He defended the WBA lightweight title against the likes of Frank Martin (KO 8, June 2024) before a controversial result stalled his perfect run.
In March 2025 he fought Lamont Roach to a majority draw in a bout that featured a disputed knee-to-the-canvas moment many felt should have been ruled a knockdown. He has not fought since, and amid legal issues he was no longer recognized as WBA lightweight champion in 2026.
As of June 2026 his record stands at 30-0-1 (28 KOs) — undefeated but with his championship status and next bout in flux.
