Biography
Katie Taylor is an Irish sporting icon widely regarded as the greatest female boxer of all time. A 2012 Olympic lightweight gold medalist and a multiple-time amateur world champion, she turned professional in 2016 and never looked back.
She unified the lightweight division to become undisputed champion, then moved up and unified again at super lightweight, holding the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts. Her rivalry with Amanda Serrano produced three of the most celebrated fights in women's boxing history — including the first women's bout to headline Madison Square Garden in April 2022.
Taylor swept the trilogy: she edged Serrano by split decision in 2022, won a unanimous decision in their November 2024 Netflix rematch, and closed it out with a majority decision at Madison Square Garden on July 11, 2025 to move to 25-1 (6 KOs).
As of June 2026 she remains the undisputed super lightweight champion and the standard-bearer for the women's professional game.
