Biography
Patchy Mix (born Patrick Ethan Mix, 16 August 1993) is the final Bellator bantamweight world champion and one of the most submission-heavy grapplers in modern MMA: 13 of his 20 wins have come by tap. He is a southpaw who fights out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas.
Mix won the 2023 Bellator Bantamweight World Grand Prix by flattening Raufeon Stots with a first-round flying knee at Bellator 295, then unified the belt at Bellator 301 with a second-round rear-naked choke on Sergio Pettis. He defended it once, edging Magomed Magomedov on a five-round split decision in May 2024.
The story since then has gone the other way. After moving to the UFC he lost a decision to Mario Bautista at UFC 316 in June 2025 and a split decision to Jakub Wiklacz at UFC 320 that October. On 7 March 2026 he stepped up to featherweight for RIZIN.52 and was stopped in the second round by Kyoma Akimoto — his first three-fight losing run as a professional. Through his first 21 pro bouts he was 20-1; all three of the extra losses have come in the last three fights.
On 11 August 2026 Mix drops back to his natural bantamweight (61.0 kg). RIZIN announced him for the co-main event of RIZIN.54 at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO against Japanese veteran Masamitsu "Shoko" Sato, a former Shooto world bantamweight champion, under RIZIN MMA rules (three five-minute rounds). The main event that night is Kleber Koike Erbst vs Akimoto, with the winner earning a shot at featherweight champion Razhabali Shaydullaev.
