Prime Video Boxing 16: Takuma Inoue vs Tenshin Nasukawa 2

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, Prime Video Boxing 16 takes place at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO, where WBC bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue defends against Tenshin Nasukawa in a rematch.

Per Amazon's official announcement, the card streams exclusively live on Prime Video, included for Prime members at no extra cost.

Why they are fighting again

The two first met in November 2025, contesting the vacant WBC world bantamweight title. Inoue won that fight by unanimous decision, 3-0, and took the belt.

They then went separate ways.

Tenshin Nasukawa returned in April 2026 against Juan Francisco Estrada of Mexico, then the WBC's leading bantamweight contender, and stopped him after the ninth round. The Ring reported the three judges' cards through eight rounds as 77-75, 78-74 and 79-73, all for Nasukawa. That win put him back in line for Inoue.

Takuma Inoue made his first defense on May 2, 2026, against Kazuto Ioka, the former four-division world champion. Inoue won a wide unanimous decision, with scores of 118-108, 119-107 and 120-106, dropping Ioka late in round two with a right hook and again midway through round three with a right uppercut. Ioka's bid to become a five-division world champion ended there.

So this September rematch is one in which the fighter who lost the first meeting earned his way back as the mandatory challenger.

Where both men stand

As stated in Amazon's announcement, champion Takuma Inoue is 30 (Ohashi Gym) with a record of 22-2, 5 KOs, and challenger Tenshin Nasukawa is 28 (Teiken Gym) at 8-1, 3 KOs. Nasukawa crossed over from kickboxing, and his only boxing loss is the November 2025 fight against Inoue.
