Biography
Yoshiki Takei is a two-sport standout who became a boxing world champion after a decorated kickboxing career. As a K-1 fighter he held the K-1 super bantamweight title and won the K-1 World Grand Prix in both 2017 and 2019 before switching to boxing, where he made his pro debut in 2021.
A heavy-handed southpaw out of the famed Ohashi Gym — Naoya Inoue's stable — Takei carried his kickboxing power straight into the pro ranks. In only his ninth fight, he won the WBO bantamweight title by outpointing Jason Moloney at the Tokyo Dome in May 2024, then defended against Daigo Higa (September 2024) and Yuttapong Tongdee (first-round TKO, May 2025).
His unbeaten run ended in a shock when Christian Medina dropped and stopped him in the fourth round in September 2025, costing him the title. He returned with a majority-decision win over DeKang Wang in May 2026.
As of June 2026 he is 12-1 (9 KOs) and rebuilding toward another title run.
