Haney def. Norman — UD 12
Report
On the Riyadh Season card in Saudi Arabia, Devin Haney jumped up to welterweight to challenge the hard-punching WBO champion Brian Norman Jr. — and produced a vintage performance built around his jab and footwork.
Haney took an early measure of the bigger man and dropped Norman with a right hand in the second round, then used distance control, smothering clinches and a pinpoint jab to bank rounds the rest of the way. He won a clear unanimous decision to capture the WBO welterweight title and become a three-division world champion, improving to 33-0.
For Norman (28-1), a knockout artist who had earlier in 2025 stopped Japan's Jin Sasaki in Tokyo, it was a first professional defeat against elite, high-level boxing.
