Biography
Lamont Roach Jr. was born August 18, 1995, in Washington, D.C., and turned pro in 2014 after a decorated amateur career that included the 2013 National Golden Gloves and USA Boxing Youth National titles. “The Reaper” built a 19-0-1 start before a unanimous-decision loss to Jamel Herring in a 2019 bid for the WBO super featherweight title.
He rebuilt, and in November 2023 out-pointed Hector Garcia by split decision to win the WBA super featherweight championship, defending it once with an eighth-round stoppage of Feargal McCrory in June 2024.
