Scorecards
| Score | For |
|---|---|
| 116-112 | Lopez |
| 115-113 | Lopez |
| 114-114 | Draw (Glenn Feldman) |
Lopez controlled the twelve rounds behind his jab and footwork, working the body and mixing hooks upstairs when openings appeared. Romero, making the first defence of the belt he took from Ryan Garcia in May 2025, never landed the power shots that defined that win. He disputed the decision afterwards: "I got hit with two punches the whole fight that barely grazed me. I was never in any trouble. When I heard 114-114 I knew it was a robbery."
